Motor Speedway. The Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets were the dominant cars Sunday on the 1.5-mile oval. Suárez led 36 of 413 laps and won stage 2. Late race accidents for both Trackhouse Racing drivers ruined their chances for victory. Suárez saw his chances for victory go away in a wreck with 54 laps remaining as he raced in fourth and was catching the leader. Suárez started 12th but quickly showed he had the fastest car on the track. Suárez led laps 46-62 while teammate Ross Chastain raced into the top-five. Suárez dropped from first to 19th in Stage 1 after contact with another car. Stage 2 saw Chastain lead a majority of the laps before Suárez grabbed the lead with three to go and earn his second stage victory of the season. It was the first one-two stage finish in Trackhouse Racing’s brief history. Both cars raced at the front of the field in the final stage before the accidents took them out of contention. NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday for the 300-mile race at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 CommScope Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing: “My team has been building rockets. We had the best car out there. I just got tight. With these cars, clean air is very important. They were side-by-side in front of me. I was fine in front and eventually I got in the middle of the wake and I got super tight. It was just a tough situation.”
