Date: May 19th, 2024 Event: NASCAR All-Star Race Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: North Wilkesboro Speedway (0.625-mile oval) Format: Two Stages (100 laps/100 laps) Start/Finish: 4th / 15th (running, completed 200 of 200 laps) Notes: Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 15th in Sunday’s 40th-annual NASCAR All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway. Suárez started fourth in the non-points race, which gave teams options of running a harder and softer tire for the first time. By the halfway mark, Suárez was ninth racing most of the way on the harder tires. Both Trackhouse Racing drivers spent most of the second half of the race on soft tires with Suárez struggling to get his car to handle in the initial laps of a run. Rain on Saturday canceled two planned heat races to determine the starting lineup. NASCAR instead set the field based on lap times from the pit stop competition earlier in the day. In Saturday’s pit stop competition, the No. 99 crew finished fourth. Sunday’s race marked the second NASCAR Cup Series event at the .625-mile track since 1996. The next race is Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600. Fox will broadcast the race at 6 p.m. ET.
