  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 34th in Sunday’s 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
  • The finish moves Suárez to 18th in the season point standings.
  • Suárez was the victim of a nine-car accident on the opening lap of the final stage triggered by a car losing a tire towards the front of the field.
  • Both Trackhouse Chevrolets ran in the top-six in the early going.
  • A speeding penalty dropped Suárez from fourth to 27th in Stage 1.
  • Suárez stayed on the lead lap finishing 25th. However, his day ended with the wreck at the start of final stage leaving him with a 34-place finish.
  • Sunday marked the ninth annual “Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR” during which the industry honored the sport’s 75-year history. Nearly all the NASCAR Cup Series teams sported throwback paint schemes in the race.
  • Suárez raced Ricky Rudd’s 1988 Quaker State paint scheme.
