  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 15th in Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
  • With 40 laps to go in the race, Suárez raced in 12th. It appeared that’s where he would finish as the race drew to an end.
  • But a caution in the final 10 laps saw the Trackhouse driver pit for new tires and Suárez restarted 17th with four laps remaining.
  • Close racing saw Suárez use the new tires to gain positions and finished 12th.
  • It looked like it was going to be a great night for Trackhouse Racing. Suárez started fifth but quickly moved to second in the first 30 laps.
  • The first stoppage of the race was issued at Lap 42. After multiple lightning strikes and a delay of a little more than an hour.
  • When the race resumed, Suárez struggled with a tight handling car, finishing 13th in Stage 1.
  • Stage 2 was paused for a rain delay on lap 139 for more than two hours before Suárez finished 22nd in Stage 2.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday in the Kwik Trip 250 presented by JOCKEY Made in America at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Tootsie’s Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“I am very disappointed. Our Tootsie’s Chevrolet started out very fast, but it kept getting tighter and tighter. We made some adjustments but couldn’t get it to where we wanted it. We will go back and figure out what happened. We have had really fast cars this year and we will learn from this. We had a great week with Tootsie’s and all of our sponsors in Nashville and really wanted a better finish.”
