  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 22nd in Sunday’s 500-kilometer NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway.
  • The finish dropped Suárez from fourth to 11th in the 2023 point standings.
  • Both Trackhouse Chevrolets raced well and looked destined to finish in the top-10. Two speeding penalties while racing 14th doomed Suárez’s bid for a fourth consecutive top-10 finish.
  • Suárez started 11th on Sunday and quickly showed his speed by gaining spots early in the race before finishing 13th in the first stage.
  • In the second stage, neither of the two Trackhouse teammates could make much progress with Suárez finishing14th.
  • Suárez raced in the top-10 much of the race.
  • The next race is 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 19 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Freeway Insurance Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“That was a difficult finish for us. I thought we had a car capable of a top-10. We worked on the handling all race long and showed some good speed today, but those speeding penalties just hurt our day. We learned a lot for when we come back for the November (Championship) race.”
