Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 27th in Sunday’s rain-delayed 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
  • Suárez ran 17th when most of the field pitted with 60 laps remaining. With various strategies employed by different drivers, the Trackhouse Racing Chevrolets took two tires.
  • When the race resumed both were shuffled out of the lead pack and fell back in the field, Suárez dropped to 30th before both regained spots in the final laps and overtime.
  • In the first stage, Suárez worked on handling most of the stage racing in traffic before finishing 27th.
  • Suárez raced hard in Stage 2 but was edged by inches for the free pass and finished a lap down in 31st.
  • Suárez did return to the lead lap after an accident with 85 to go while in 25th. He used a two-tire stop to jump to 17th with 60 to go.
  • Rain delayed the race three hours Sunday before Kyle Larson nipped Chris Buescher by 0.001 seconds setting a new NASCAR record.
  • The Cup Series returns to action Sunday at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
