Races November 18, 2021 2022 Testing Begins Soon, Next Race at Los Angeles Coliseum Date: November 7th, 2021 Event: NASCAR Cup Series Championship (Round 36 of 36) Series: NASCAR Cup Series Location: Phoenix Raceway (1.022-mile oval) Format: 312 laps, broken into three stages (75 laps/115 laps/122 laps) Start/Finish: 17th / 21st (completed 312 of 312 laps) Point Standing: 25th Notes: Daniel Suárez finished 21st in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Phoenix International Raceway. Suárez finished the 2021 season 25th in the driver standings. Suárez qualified 17th on Saturday and quickly showed he was one of the faster cars on the track. As the race progressed, he asked the Trackhouse crew to work on securing the back of the car to the track. He finished the first stage in 21st and 24th in the second stage choosing to save new tires for later in the race. In the final stage, the No. 99 brushed the wall, but climbed as high as 15th before crossing the finish line in 21st. Suárez will test the Next Gen car at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Nov. 17-18 as well as at the Daytona and Phoenix tracks along with competing in the non-points, invitational Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Feb. 6. The kickoff to the 2022 season is the Feb. 20 Daytona 500. In 2022, Suárez will be joined by teammate Ross Chastain and the team will operate out of the Trackhouse Racing shop near the Concord, N.C. airport. Trackhouse Founder Justin Marks presented Chip Ganassi with a gift before Sunday’s race. Trackhouse will take over the NASCAR assets of Chip Ganassi Racing on Monday.
