  • Both Trackhouse Chevrolets showed speed throughout the race earning bonus points (15 for Ross Chastain and 13 for Suárez) in the first two stages. There were a record number of cautions with many accidents involving several leaders cutting tires.
  • Suárez struggled with handling in the final stage but avoided the trouble many others could not avoid.
  • Suárez started the race in 10th on Sunday. The Minute Maid Aguas Frescas driver showed good speed and avoided the five cautions in the 100-lap opening stage to finish fourth, earning seven bonus points.
  • Suárez pitted during the break and started the second stage in the back of the field before using speed and strategy to return to the front of the field. A 10-lap shootout after a caution saw Suárez finish fifth to earn six bonus points.
  • Lightning paused the race 56 minutes before the final stage.
  • The next race is Sunday at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Minute Maid Aguas Frescas Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“It was a tough day for our Aguas Frescas Chevrolet. We got decent points, but the car wasn’t what we were hoping for. The entire weekend, we were kind of off. The car had good speed, but the balance of the car wasn’t good. We just have to continue to work. I think we had a decent points day. We just have to continue to work and get better.”
