Notes:

  • Suárez started 18th, but his race didn’t last long. On lap three, another car hit the wall and blocked the track. Cars piled into one another. The No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet suffered severe damage, but could continue at slower speeds. The car overheated with two laps to go, leaving Suárez with a 29th-place finish.
  • Suárez finished 29th in Stage 1 as his team continued to make repairs from the early race accident.
  • Suárez didn’t pit in Stage 2 and finished 18th in his damaged car.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action on Sunday, July 13, on the road course race at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.

Daniel Suárez, driver of the No. 99 Jockey Chevrolet Camaro for Trackhouse Racing:

“Obviously very disappointed. I felt like we didn’t really get a chance to race today. There wasn’t much anyone could do in the wreck. The whole track was blocked and our Jockey Chevrolet took a lot of damage. We got it to where we could make laps but that’s about all we could do.”
