Daniel’s Amigos Take Over Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Daniel Suarez arrived in Las Vegas this past Thursday with anticipation and excitement for not only race day, but the moments leading to it.  The 27-year-old driver prepared for an all but ordinary weekend in Sin City.

Daniel kicked off the weekend alongside Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s own, Pit Boss. On Friday the two met with a sizable group of youth robotics students before cup practice.  The group had the opportunity to engage with Daniel and ask questions about his NASCAR experiences with the 41 team.

Daniel then had the opportunity to meet with some of Las Vegas’s renown Hispanic leaders.  That afternoon, the collective group of prominent figures got to know Daniel and get the full Daniel’s Amigos experience.  Astrid Silva of Dream Big Nevada had this to say about the meet and greet, “Definitely a great experience! We don’t always associate NASCAR with Latinos or Mexicans for that matter, but meeting a real life Mexican NASCAR driver is further proof, we belong everywhere!”

Following this, Daniel and Coca-Cola invited his amigos out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday for an experience like no other. A total of 1,700 people registered for the experience with 586 total people attending to be a part of the Daniel’s Amigos crowd. As the burning sun beat over the track, a wave of red t-shirts assembled outside the motor speedway’s Xfinity Garage.  As several of Daniel’s Amigos poured into the garage, a ceiling painted with red, white, and green tapers housed chants and cheers from the crowd.

The event began with several raffles and prizes for the fans presented by Telemundo’s, Omar Amador.  Following with celebrity appearances from Jane The Virgin star, Jaime Camil and That ’70s ShowNCIS star Wilmer Valderrama.

Shortly thereafter, Daniel entered the garage and the group erupted in resounding applause. As Daniel entered the garage, he felt the presence of Daniel’s Amigos, “It was incredible, to have a group this passionate and behind the 41 team, it’s a feeling like no other,” Daniel said.  The enthralled fans had the chance to ask Daniel questions, capture pictures with him, and win more prizes.

Most of the fans then headed to the stands feeling ready for the race.  Meanwhile, a handful of Daniel’s Amigos escorted Daniel across the stage during driver intros.  The passionate group flooded onto the stage with roaring chants for their amigo, Daniel.  As the race went on the Daniel’s Amigos group cheered boisterously for Daniel.  The sight was so significant, NASCAR on NBC captured the moment early in the race while Daniel led several laps.
