Notes:

  • Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suárez finished 23rd in Sunday’s 300-mile race at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis.
  • Suárez saw his chances for victory go away with a broken jack on a pit stop as he ran in the top five with just over 50 laps remaining in the race.
  • Suárez slowly worked his way up to 27th by the end of stage 1.
  • Suárez continued his march to the front using good pit strategy and an improved handling car to climb into the top-10 before finishing Stage 2 in seventh.
  • Suárez started the race 23rd but dropped to the rear of the field on the pace laps to serve a penalty for a transmission change before the race.
  • The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action Sunday for the 350-kilometer race at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway in Napa.
